All Into One: Chapter 6

Chapter 6:

“Flying?” I asked. “Really, you expect me, and you, to fly up to the castle? Gosh, it’s a wonder you are not in asylum.”
“I’m guessing you have no clue where we are and what castle this is, do you? Hint, it’s Care Paravel.”
Holy klunk. We were really in Narnia.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Roth said. “Narnia isn’t real, can’t be real. But think again. We are in Narnia, the Fictional’s Homestead.”
“But, but. . .” was all I could muster from all the shock that went through me.
“Are you ready to head up?”
I could only nod. I hadn’t realized it, but my mouth was wide open. “The real question is, why wouldn’t I be ready?”
“Then up we go.”
Roth led us to a patch of purple lilies and said, “Jump, that’s all it requires of you.”
“It? You mean the castle? Man, get some real friends.” I retort.
“I have plenty of friends, thank you very much, now get on and jump. It’s a lot of fun trust me. It took my pack two days to just step on the lilies. For some reason they don’t trust me even though I am their leader.”
“That seems to suck.” After I replied with that I step on the field of lilies and jump. The sensation of, this so called “flying”, was probably the best feeling I most likely have ever felt. My body felt like it was weightless, with no pressures on me what so ever. I never wanted to leave this spot, ever.
When I reached the castle, I didn’t know what to do and I started to fall again. I’m not sure, but I might have screamed. I was falling but it was a slow fall, as if I were just floating downward.
“Asoroth! What am I supposed to do?” I screamed down to Roth.
“Just fall again!” He screamed back.
“How?”
“Just forget you’re in the air! You’ll fall straight down!”
“Okay!”
As I fell through the air, I was trying to think of Zach. His tan, Portuguese skin with his hazel eyes. And his stomach, oh his washboard tummy was so amazing. I remember one time this past summer, when we went to the beach, Zach had dove into the ocean and got stung by a jellyfish. And all I could think about was he just being there. I always have loved Zach, and I don’t think he ever knew that I did. But maybe he will see through that veil of his.
I hit something hard, it didn’t hurt, but it was firm. Roth caught me and set me down outside the ring of lilies.
“Okay, next time look for the ledge and grab onto that.”
“You probably should have mention BEFORE I jumped!”
“Well now you know. Now jump again and land on the ledge and no where else.”
“Fine.” I went back to the lilies and jumped. The feeling was again sensational and I got to the top and found the ledge. I grabbed on and found notches in the stone as handholds. I saw Roth climbing on the left of me and he stood up and walked toward me, still holding onto the ledge.
“Here, let me help you,” Roth says as he walks towards me.
“Thanks. Uff. Ouch, do you how to be gentle?” I say grouchily.
“Eh, not really.”
“Whatever. Let’s go meet these Fictionals.”
“First we need to find a guard and tell them we’re here, or else we will get thrown out and we won’t float down this time.”
“Rough much?” I ask sarcastically.
“Actually, compared to what they do in Idris and Camp Jupiter, no. Just stick with me, Laura, and you’ll be fine.”
“Wait, so you are saying that both of those exist?
“Absolutely. And you say you know about everyone and their secrets, I’m guessing?”
“Mostly, yeah. But not everyone. I don’t even remember hearing about you in my books.”
“I tried as hard as possible to get away from the Followers, the ones you call authors. They would follow everyone, and everyone knew that they were there but they had no clue who or what they were doing. Most ignored them but some found ways to enter the protagonist’s brain, and thus, first person writing.”
“You know, I have had that thought for the longest time then I thought that it was just a stupid idea, and no one believed me anyway so it was a waste of time to give it any thought. But now that it’s true, suck it my fellow classmates!”
“Haha. No wonder teenagers are good for company.”
“Especially the women.”
“Especially.”
We saw the guard at that moment. He was wearing scarlet robes, kind of in the form of a toga, but more of a tight fit. He was holding a lance and its tip seemed to glow blue with energy.
“Roth, long time no see! Oh and who is this lovely lady?”
“She is the One, the real one.”
“Well I’ll be darned. They found you and kept you alive, for the most part.”
“What is that sup-“
“Never mind him, Laura, let’s keep moving. Thanks Whitmore.”
Roth hurried us out of the guard’s way into a corridor with rooms on every left and right. By the looks of it, they were occupied. The doors were draped in fabrics of all sorts most were blue, though I didn’t know why.
“What do the colors represent, and what did Whitmore mean by for the most part?” Roth flinched when I finished that question.
“Like I said, do not worry about it,” His welsh accent being very pronounced.
“Well, too bad. I’m worrying. Tell me what he meant!”
“Good things never occur to those who are the heroes. You should know that of all people. So be aware that not-so-good things will happen to you, Laura.” Roth said sincerely.
I kept my mouth shut after that, hoping to just remember Zach and my mom. My dad was never really around, so I didn’t have a great connection with him.
As we walked down the corridor, I noticed people in rags and others in what seemed like royalty outfits.
“How could the king just send us here and make nothing out of this for us!” I heard a Royal say.
“Well, he sure has me excited for tonight, says he has a huge surprise. But he seemed unsure whether it was a good or bad surprise though. So be wary of him,” another Royal says back to the first.
“Shiral, the king is a coward, of course he will be afraid of our reaction to this surprise of his.”
“Hencemen, don’t you realize this is our only chance though to get on his good side for once. King Peter never liked us in the first place.” Shiral said to Hencemen.
“Well, let’s just hope that The Divine doesn’t show his face tonight, I’m already having nightmares due to the Dark Ones. The San Queros have been very busy lately and I don’t like what’s happening.”
“Laura, we need to move faster,” Roth pushed.
I grabbed Heartless Love to my chest, hoping for something normal to return to my system. Nothing came.
Roth quickly walked down the corridor and took a left through the infirmary door. He then led us down stairs that I believe led us to the dinner hall. I breathed in deeply, inhaling the wondrous aromas wafting from the kitchen.
“Roth, who were those men in the hallway?”
“Those were the king’s guests. They were, um, important people. Yeah, important people.” Roth sounded very cautious of what he was telling me.
“What are you hiding from me that you want to keep to yourself so badly?” I stopped walking and so did Asoroth.
Roth turned and stared at me. “Laura, things so indepth I don’t even know, are happening to everyone of us, the Fictionals. The San Queros are getting stronger every hour. They have most of the Narnians captive and will move to other worlds once they rid of this one. They know that this is where the Fictionals that know stuff, come here for meetings and they want them dead.”
“You still haven’t told me.” I feel like a little girl trying to get someone in trouble for taking my applesauce. I shake the feeling and continue. “Roth, let me know what I can do to prevent anything from happening to those around us, or even me.”
“That’s because I don’t know what to tell you.”
“Something, anything that will let me know what’s going on. Roth, we have already been through too much to start lying to one another. I need to know what is happening to the Fictionals.”
“The Dark Ones started with the Talmarines. They have taken most of them captive and will continue with the other Narnians. From what I’ve heard, they will continue to take us and use us against the other Fictionals by giving them the Swipe, removing their memory and controlling them. They will use whoever they take against us in order to destroy us. Fighting fire with fire.”
